The 1 st Annual General Meeting and Annual Dinner
On the June 18 th , 2004 , the first Annual General Meeting and dinner was held at the Kowloon Club. This event was attended by more than 60 guests and members.
President, Mr. Jacky Tsang reviewed the Institute's affairs while the Honorary Treasurer, Mr. Simon Cheung summarized the 2003/2004 financial report. Both of which were adopted by the institute members at the meeting.
Following the Annual General Meeting, dinner commenced at 8:30pm . Ms. Kennis Ng, the council member shone as the MC's for the evening introducing the program. The President gave a congratulatory and rousing speech to the attendees. He was encouraged by last year growth in memberships. He recognised the need of H.K.I.P.M. to do more promotion in the area of project management. As such, his vision for the institute will revolve around this need. H.K.I.P.M. would continue to look for long term opportunities to work with the government and overseas institutions. In 2003, the institute signed its first reciprocal agreement with Australian Institute of Project Management in Alice Spring , Australia .
A speech of ¡§RegPM¡¨ program was given by distinguished guest Mr. David Farwell. He explained the ¡§RegPM¡¨ program which Australia project manager had developed. This program helped to identify the project managers' skills and competency. He wishes for H.K.I.P.M. and its members to use ¡§RegPM'¡¨ program to develop a recognition program Hong Kong project managers.
Membership certificate presentation award was followed by the Mr. Farwell's speech. Mr. Jacky Tsang presented Membership and Honorary Fellow Membership awards to members and Fellow members. Mr. David Farewell was the first member to receive the Honorary Fellow award. An award was presented to the council members. A special recognition award was presented to Ms. Kennis Ng.
Entertainment was provided by a brass quintets led by Mr. Alex Lee. The institute would like to thank Mr. Alex Lee and his members for their excellent performance.
Lastly, congratulations to lucky draw winners, Mr. Patrick Lam, Mr. Louis Lai and Mr. Alex. Hung. They all won a Sogo gift certificate.
All in all it was a great success.
